On the jump number

Abstract:

Korean University of Technology and Education We introduce the definition of jump number of a poset and give some examples. We find the jump number of some interesting posets, and show the relations between jump number and other parameters. Also, we find the change of jump number as we add or delete a vertex or a comparability. Finally, we present some interesting ways of approach to jump number: matrix and jump number, matroids and jump number.
