Professor Emeritus title conferred to Imre Simon

The Congregação of the Instituto de Matemática e Estatística of the Universidade de São Paulo, the governing body of this institute, voted for awarding the Professor Emeritus title to Imre Simon on 10 September 2009. The formal session of the Congregação, for conferring the degree, took place on 8 December 2009. Thus Imre Simon became the second Professor Emeritus of this institute, joining Waldyr Muniz Oliva.

The speeches delivered on the occasion and testimonials sent in by Imre Simon's friends and colleagues were compiled in a booklet. An electronic version of this booklet is available below, as are the scripts of the speeches delivered by Gabriella and Liliana Simon.
