RESUMO:
We construct the thermodynamic limit for a class of models from
statistical mechanics known as random sequential adsorption
(sometimes
also called "parking processes"). This means that we may decide the
spin (0 or 1) at any site observing a finite (random) number of iid
uniform rvs). Besides its practical applications ("perfect" Monte
Carlo simulation), this technique provides a powerful device in
proving theorems regarding laws of large numbers, large deviation
estimates and asymptotics of spatial correlations.
Currently, the program outlined above is being extended to other
random
fields, e.g. (the stationary law of) loss queuing networks and the
noisy
voter model.
