The following Post-doc vacancy is now being advertised by the Southampton Statistical Sciences Research Institute (S3RI) at the University of Southampton. The closing date is 20th AUGUST 2009 at 12 noon.
 
SENIOR RESEARCH ASSISTANT (Part-time, 70%)
 
Salary: £27,183 - £33,432 per annum (pro rata, 0.7fte)
 
Applications are invited for this post to work on a new research project on Standard Error Estimation for Measures of Population Change over Time from Repeated Surveys funded by the ESRC.  The overall aim of this project is to investigate new approaches to estimating standard errors for estimates of changes, and to evaluate and compare these approaches via theory, simulation and empirical comparison.
 
This is a part-time (0.7fte) post of 12 months duration. The preferred starting month is October 2009. Some flexibility in the appointment is possible.

The Southampton Statistical Sciences Research Institute (S3RI) supports and co-ordinates the research activities of statisticians and demographers from the Schools of Social Science, Mathematics and Medicine. It involves more than 50 academic, research and support staff and makes up one of the largest groups of statisticians in UK universities.
