Dear Professor Cordeiro,
With great pleasure we announce the publication of the inaugural issue of the Advances and Applications in Statistical Sciences (hereafter AASS). Contents are given at the end for a look. This international peer-reviewed journal is published in two volumes annually and each volume comprises of two issues appearing in the months of January, April, July and October. The honorable Editorial Members and the Publisher are very committed to build the journal as one of leading international journals in statistical sciences in the next few years. AASS’s coverage extends across the whole of statistical sciences - theoretical, computational and applied statistics, and probability; and their applications in various disciplines. Topics covered are: Bayesian analysis, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Statistical Genetics, Computational Biology, Bootstrap, Econometrics, Inference, Markov Processes, Mathematical Statistics, Multivariate Analysis, Nonparametric, Probabilities, Sequential Analysis, Stochastic Processes, Time Series, Wavelets, among others. Besides the basic aim of publishing high quality peer-reviewed research articles, sufficient care is given to the timely disposal of the articles received for publication. Normally, we make decision on an article received in three months time and publish the same if duly recommended by the experts within next three months of acceptance.

You may suggest in your submission letter at least two experts with their email address of your field of research to be possible reviewers of your paper.

Reviewing/Indexing: Papers appearing in AASS will be reviewed/indexed in CIS, STMA, Mathematical Reviews, MathSciNet and Zentralblatt fur Mathematik databases.
Editorial Policy: Manuscripts will be considered on the condition that they have been submitted only to Advances and Applications in Statistical Sciences, that they have not been published already, and that they are not under consideration for publication or in press elsewhere. All published research articles in this journal will undergo rigorous peer review, based on initial screening and anonymous refereeing by independent expert referees. Articles will immediately be put before the screening committee of the publication which will decide to send the papers to referees/members of the editorial board for their opinion with a request to pass on the same in four weeks’ time or less. Once we get clear recommendation for publication, the paper may be included in an issue to appear next.
Article Processing Charges and Reprints: To defray the publication cost, authors of accepted papers are requested to arrange Article Processing charges of their papers at the rate of US$ 25.00 per page for USA and Canada; and Euro 20.00 for rest of the world from their institutions/research grants, if any. Twenty-five reprints of a paper are provided to the authors ex-gratis. Additional copies of reprints may be ordered at the time of proof correction. Articles are accepted for publication and published solely on the basis of merit.
