Caros colegas Segue anuncio da 9a edição do congresso de Valencia. Trata-se do congresso mais importante de Estatística Bayesiana no mundo e é realizado a cada 4 anos. Esta será a sua última edição e traz noticias particularmente boas para nós. Dos 25 palestrantes convidados pelo Comitê Científico, 3 são brasileiros (Alexandra, Carlos e Hedibert), refletindo o aumento do impacto do trabalho que brasileiros vem fazendo nessa área da Estatística. Os 3 brasileiros escolhidos aprenderam Estatística fazendo mestrado e graduação na UFRJ e atualmente atuam no ou colaboram com o Programa de Pós-Graduação em Estatística da UFRJ. Será que foi coincidência? Ou será ainda efeito da escolha do Rio para sede dos Jogos Olimpicos? :) Abraços a todos e parabéns aos 3 conferencistas Dani

The web page of the Valencia 9/ISBA 2009 meeting, June 3-8 2010 http://www.uv.es/valenciameeting has just been updated to include the list of invited speakers and some more information. Registration will shortly be open within the sam site.
I hope you will all soon make plans to enjoy Bayesian statistics by the Spanish Mediterranean next June.
