Assunto: Invitation to a Bayesian meeting in Costa Rica
Dear Rosangela,
we would like to ask you a favour. The first Latin American summer
school in Bayesian Statistics, sponsored by ISBA, will be held at
University of Costa Rica (Raquel Prado and Luis Raul Pericchi as
lecturers) on July, 22-24, 2013 and it will be followed by a meeting
on 25-26, and, probably, by an excursion on 27. ISBA is providing
partial support to some students and young researchers. We are working
to ensure the success of the first school so that we will have a second
(before ISBA 2014 near Cancun) and a third (before COBAL 4 in Medellin
in 2015).
Since the two events could be important for presenting Bayesian methods
in an area where they are not so well known, we are trying to prepare
their programmes in the most attractive way we can. The official language
will be Spanish since many people, especially students, have problems with
English language.
We would appreciate if could spread the news around and distribute
the announcement which will be ready by mid January.
