The first project is DwB ('Data without Boundaries') which ends on April 30, 2015 and focuses on cross-county data access and dissemination in the social sciences.  More specifically, The University of Manchester’s contribution to the project focuses on the research and development of appropriate disclosure control methods that can be applied to statistical data disseminated through online platforms, quantifying the disclosure risk and data utility in such systems, and in addition, the development of record linkage methods for augmenting released data and the analysis of linked datasets. See http://www.dwbproject.org/ for more information about the project.

The second project is InGrid ('Inclusive Growth Infrastructure Diffusion') which supports research on poverty, working life and living conditions and started on February 1, 2013 until January 31, 2017.  The University of Manchester‘s contribution to the project  is to  research and develop social indicators  that take into account robust  modeling  with attention to the impact of the weighting system and survey designs both on the definition of the  indicators and on the fitting of models for   analysis. Finally, we focus on the formulation and estimation of measures of accuracy for the indicators, such as mean squared errors and non-sampling errors.

The specific work will be defined by the work packages of the projects and in collaboration with other researchers across Europe involved with the projects.
