Five Short Course proposals have been selected for presentation just before the International Biometric Conference (IBC) begins. These short courses will take place on Sunday, July 6, 2014.
There are four all-day courses (9:00 AM â 4:00 PM) and one half-day course (9:00 AM â 12:30 PM). These courses are taught by experienced professionals who are experts in their fields.
Course #1: Emmanuel Lesaffre, David Dejardin â Bayesian analysis of follow-up studies
Course #2: Byron Morgan, Rachel McCrea, Ruth King â Capture-recapture methods
Course #3: James Carpenter, Ulrike Krahn, Gerta RÃcker â Meta analysis and its implementation in R

How to Register
To register for a short course, login to the Members Only area at www.biometricsociety.org, and select â27th International Biometric Conference Short Coursesâ from the âMembers Onlyâ drop-down menu.If you do not already have an account, you will need to create one. Start by clicking âNew Account.â Once youâve created an account, login to the International Biometric Society (IBS) website.
Online registration is for credit card payments only. If you need to pay by check or wire transfer, please contact the IBS Staff at ibs@tibs.org. Registrations will not be confirmed until full payment is received.
The registration deadline is June 30, 2014 11:59 PM EST.
Cancellation Policy
If you decide to cancel your short course registration, a written short course registration fee refund request (by email or postal mail) must be received in the IBS Headquarters Office by 11:59 PM EST on July 2, 2014. You will be issued a full refund less a 30% processing fee for each course cancelled. Late cancellations (after the cancellation date) will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Refunds may also be extended for acts of nature and national emergencies. In the event of a âno-showâ cancellation, no refund will be issued. The IBS reserves the right to cancel any short course and return all fees in the event of insufficient registrations. In addition, we reserve the right to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances. The IBS will not be responsible for any losses incurred by the registrants, including, but not limited to airline cancellation charges or hotel deposits.By registering, you agree to the cancellation policy.
