ACCOMMODATION:
We recommend to book a hotel or apartment close to a metro station or Metro Line Bus (referred to as Metroplus).
The University of Antioquia has two main entrances, one of them is located right in front of the metro station "Universidad" (Metro Line A - Blue).
Where to stay: the most popular places to stay are El Poblado, Laureles and Ciudad del Rio.
We also recommend: Estadio, La Floresta, Avenida 70, Belen, La Candelaria (Downtown) and for families a good option is Envigado or Airbnb Medellin.
TRAVELING:
The easiest way to get to Medellin from outside Colombia is via the International Airport Jose Maria Cordoba (MED). The airport is located about 45 minutes away from Medellin. From the airport to the city of Medellin, there are several transportation options, see e.g. here.
Immigration and Customs statement:
Although Colombia is a very welcoming country, there is a list of countries whose citizens are required to have a visa to enter our country (see
here or page 11 of the document below).
Please verify whether you require a Colombian visa or not. It is important to verify if your country is in the list of countries (see page 17 in the document below) which for entering Colombia need the Yellow Fever Vaccine.
