Caros colegas e professor Imre,

Vou compartilhar com a lista uma mensagem relacionada que enviei
a um grupo composto majoritariamente por cidadãos dos EUA.

Há uma relação direta com a disciplina que a é a manipulação e o
fluxo de informação. Assim como a escravidão foi a força e também
o fim do Império Romano, a Internet fortaleceu mas também será o
fim do que às vezes é chamado de "Império Estadunidense".

Com a Internet, as empresas e o governo estadunidenses podem
mentir para mais pessoas, mais rapidamente. Por exemplo, após a
Internet se tornar "popular", passamos ver com freqüência certas
bobagens no Brasil como se referir aos EUA como "América".

Por outro lado, a natureza livre da Internet (muito bem descrita pelo
professor Imre, se referindo a seu patrocínio militar mas criada por
acadêmicos) permite a quem realmente quiser encontrar a verdade
não depender mais das grandes empresas de informação, inclusive
das nossas que meramente copiam textos dos EUA e da Inglaterra.

A mensagem abaixo esclarece mais um pouco o raciocínio.

Dear friends,

There are many US citizens on this list and thus I would like to
express my condolences for the tragedy that took place today.

I am totally against the crimes of the US government, such as
supporting the invasion of Cyprus, covering up the Hellenic Genocide
as well as the Armenian Genocide and the Assyrian Genocide or
supporting the grotesque lies of the government of FYROM*.

On the other hand, I realize that the people of the USA and their
government are different things, often COMPLETELY different. No
matter how criminal are the actions of the US government, terrorism
is never acceptable and this attack against the USA is revolting.

The US government is the one that exposed the PEOPLE of the USA
to such a DISGRACE. It's a great STUPIDITY to expect that the US
government can cover up, encourage, support and commit so many
crimes against humanity without exposing its people to disaster.

The recent diplomatic defeats of the USA, like when they lost their
seat in an organization of the United Nations that deals with human
rights, earlier this year, show that the truth can't be hidden anymore.

I think the people of the USA can and should turn this enormous
defeat and this tragedy into a great victory of the entire humanity.

The people of the USA should wake up to all crimes of the
government that's SUPPOSED to work for them but that actually
works only for the military industry and for the oil industry.

The people of the USA should do their best to end all the grotesque
lies that the media companies of the USA spread all over the world
to cover up and support invasions and genocides. One can't plant
the seeds of war without expecting to harvest pain to themselves.

Can't the people of the USA realize that the US government is the
greatest factor of INSTABILITY and INJUSTICE of the whole world?

Where the freedom of Turkey to ignore the United Nations comes
from? What about that ridiculous Star War system that will cost
trillions of US$ while US citizens live on the streets and starve?

Can't the people of the USA see that the US government is placing
their nation next to the Germans and Turks as the greatest
perpetrators of crimes against humanity of the entire History?

"Ignorance is Bliss"? To some, during some time, maybe. But it's
certainly also a short-way to DISGRACES, like the ones of today.

I hope the people of the USA will finally wake up. It would be a way
to honour the victims of those attacks. I hope they will turn their
pain into actions to make justice prevail, to turn the USA into an
example of respect for the truth and justice. They can do it.
