On the Specht problem and related results.
Abstract: The Specht problem is one of the central problems of the theory of varieties. This is a question of existence of a finite base for any system of identities. We will discuss the Specht problem for various types of identities including graded identities and identities with involution. We also will consider classification results strongly related with the Specht problem, and will discuss how apply them to study identities. The major part of results to be presented, relate associative algebras over a field of characteristic zero.
