Resumo

The talk will present the experience of CESUP-RS, the first Center of Supercomputing established in Brazil, providing services nationwide via computer network. CESUP-RS aims to provide high-performance computing services to support the research activities of the country. To this end, its  services are made available to Universities, Government offices and private companies, in the fields of pure and applied scientific and technological research. Many aspects like polices, strategies, problems, etc to introduce this kind of service in different areas of the country will be presented.
