Thiago P. Silveira
Career Summary
I am a fourth-year PhD student in Applied Mathematics at University of São Paulo (USP). Between September 2020 and December 2021, I studied at Technische Universität Dresden (TUD) for a research stay. I am Bachelor in Applied Mathematics from Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM) and Master in Mathematics from the same university. My main research interests are the following: quadratic optimization, nonlinear programming, second-order cone programming, constraint qualifications and interval optimization. You can see my Curriculum Lattes or my Curriculum Vitae for more details.

PhD in Applied Mathematics (University of São Paulo with a research stay at Technische Universität Dresden)
In 2018 I started my PhD advisored by Prof. Dr. Gabriel Haeser at University of São Paulo and Prof. Dr. Héctor Ramírez from Universidad de Chile is my co-advisor. My main line research is in Second-Order Optimality Conditions for Nonlinear programming, but I am also interested in:
- Second-Order Cone Programming.
- Sequential Optimality Conditions.
- Practical Algorithms.
- Constraint Qualifications.
In 2019 I presented a work called "Some difficulties on obtaining strong second-order stationary points in NLP" at the 32nd Brazilian Mathematical Colloquium, at the Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics (IMPA).
In September 2020, I started a research stay at Technische Universität Dresden with Prof. Dr. Andreas Fischer as my supervisor.
On May 3rd, 2021, I presented a seminar (in Portuguese) about constant rank-type constraint qualification for conic programming. You can watch it in the following link: video. This seminar is part of the weekly seminar of the optimization group from University of São Paulo and University of Campinas. You can see more detais here: seminars.
On August 5th, 2021, I presented a seminar (in Portuguese) called "A constant rank-type constraint qualification for second-order cone programming" at 33rd Brazilian Mathematical Colloquium (Online).
