Re: [ABE-L]: Uma entrevista!

Caro Carlinhos,

Recomendo a você e aos demais colegas o seguinte livro:

Cox, D.R. (2006). Principles of Statistical Inference. New York:
Cambridge University Press.

Recomendo também o artigo do Cox intitulado "Frequentist and Bayesian
statistics: a critique", de 2006, que se encontra disponível em

http://www.physics.ox.ac.uk/phystat05/proceedings/files/papbayesrev.pdf

O abstract: "The broad distinctions between the frequentist and Bayesian
approaches to statistical inference are outlined and some brief
historical background given. The advantages and disadvantages of the
frequentist discussion are sketched and then two contrasting Bayesian
views given. The difficulties with the notion of a flat or uninformative
prior distribution are discussed."

Recomendo também o artigo "Some remarks on the nature of statistical
inference" do David Cox e da Deborah Mayo, que se encontra em

http://www.error06.econ.vt.edu/Cox.pdf

O abstract: "After a brief discussion of the role and importance of
objectivity in science and statistical analysis a short outline is given
of a frequentist basis for statistical interpretation of data. The
central role of a probability model of the data-generating process is
stressed and the contribution of various kinds of conditioning
explained. Some of the complications that can arise in applications are
mentioned and a brief critique of alternative Bayesian approaches set
out."

Os dois artigos são sintéticos, mas úteis. Para mais detalhes, ver o
livro mencionado.

Um abraço,

FC
