Travel Awards: ISBA 2008 Conference

A Range of Travel Awards are now available for postgraduate students and
early career researchers intending to present their research at

ISBA 2008
9th World Meeting of the International Society for Bayesian Analysis
21st-25th July 2008 Hamilton Island, Australia

To be eligible for these awards, candidates must;
1)  Be a financial member of ISBA in 2008.
2)  Submit an abstract with their application. This can be for either oral
or poster format.
3)  Provide a single page academic CV.
4)  Provide a half page summary on why they are requesting funding and how
attending the conference will be beneficial         to their career.
5)  Complete and submit the Travel Application Form via email. The form is
available at http://www.isba2008.sci.qut.edu.au/awards2008.shtml

The closing date for applications is 20th November, 2007.

DETAILS:

Awards will be made by members of the program committee on the basis of
merit. Successful applicants will be required to confirm their attendance
and meet other conference expenses, such as accommodation, before 29th
February, 2008.

1.  Early Career Researcher Grants: There are ten (10) grants available that
will pay the conference registration fee for early career researchers (value
$A 599 each). These awards are available to PhD graduates from any country.
To be eligible for this award, the recipient must have graduated after 30th
June 2003.

2.  Post-graduate students (full-time): There are ten (10) grants available
to pay the cost of conference registration for  full-time post-graduate
students (value $A 499 each). These awards are available to students from
any country. To be eligible, applicants must be full-time students.

3. Remote and rural Australian students: There are six (6) grants available
to pay the cost of conference registration for students located in remote or
regional Australia (value $A 499 each). To be eligible, applicants must be
studying (full or part time) either at a regional university or be enrolled
at a university that is located more than 100km from their place of
residence. We are grateful to The Northern Rivers University Department of
Rural Health for sponsoring this award.
