CHAIR IN RESEARCH METHODS

School of Social Sciences - Division of Social Statistics

Applications are invited for the post of Professor of Research Methods.
The University has long-established strengths in social statistics and
research methods and, since 2004, has hosted the coordinating hub of the
ESRC National Centre for Research Methods (NCRM). This new post has been
created to help take forward the focus on research methods generated by
the Centre and the successful candidate will join the Centre's 'hub'
team as a co-director. The post will be located in the Division of
Social Statistics within the School of Social Sciences and the appointee
will have an established international research record in statistics,
quantitative methodology or quantitative social science. In addition to
contributions to NCRM, the appointee will help sustain and further
enhance the School's reputation for social statistics.

The post is available from 1 April 2008. The closing date is 6 December
2007. Interviews will be held on 21 January 2008.
