The XXth and XIXth centuries have been mentioned in the conversao.
I am not sure just which century the above writers thought I belonged to, but I take mine as the XVIIIth because what I believe in is least squares.
Probability is for fun, but least squares are for truth, more or less.
As evidence I can tell you that one semester I taught our principal graduta course in applied statistics never using probability. I wondered if I was
going to make it to the end of the semester around the 10th week, of 15, but when I started doing exploratory time series I realised that one could
go on forever.
