To all IASE Members and all participants at ICOTS7 (an update)

As you know the Eighth International Conference on Teaching
Statistics will be held in the attractive and historic city of
Ljubljana, Slovenia, 11-16 July, 2010.

The invited paper sessions have closed but you can now offer a
contributed paper by contacting one of the three contributed paper
coordinators

     Gilberte Schuyten (Belgium) gilberte.schuyten@ugent.be
     Flavia Jolliffe (United Kingdom) F.Jolliffe@kent.ac.uk
John D McKenzie, Jr. (United States) mckenzie@babson.edu

with details of your proposal. This should include a title and an
abstract of up to 150 words due by 31 August if you want your paper
to be refereed otherwise by 30 November.

You are also encouraged to consider the submission of a poster and in
this case you should contact one of the poster coordinators

     Mojca Bavdaz (Slovenia) mojca.bavdaz@ef.uni-lj.si
     Alesa Lotric Dolina (Slovenia) alesa.lotric.dolinar@ef.uni-lj.si
     James Nicholson (United Kingdom) j.r.nicholson@durham.ac.uk

The conference website http://icots8.org/ has more information
including the names of all invited speakers. The International
Programme Committee has a comprehensive programme in place. There is
a stunning list of plenary speakers ( Hans Rosling, Gerd Gigerenzer,
Cliff Konold, Jessica Utts, Anuska Ferligoj ) and a plenary panel
coordinated by Chris Wild.

The second circular with registration instructions, accommodation
details and details of tours will be released in September this year.
Information about ICOTS will also be available at the ISI in Durban
in August this year.

Best wishes

John Harraway
Chair International Programme Committee ICOTS8
