Subject: {Disarmed} PhD Scholarships in Survey Methodology at the University
of Essex, UK

The Institute of Social and Economic Research (ISER), University of Essex, is
the leading centre in the UK for survey methodology. We offer a Masters
programme in Survey Methods for Social Research and a PhD programme in Survey
Methodology. We have a world-class faculty of survey methods researchers.
Students additionally benefit from interaction with our survey team, who run
Understanding Society: the UK Household Longitudinal Study and its offspring,
the Innovation Panel.
We are currently accepting applications from students wishing to study for a
PhD (+3), or a Masters plus PhD (1+3). In addition to the survey methodology
programme, we invite applications in any quantitative social science
discipline. ISER is an interdisciplinary research centre with a thriving PhD
program.

Prospective students are also invited to apply for one of our fully-funded
studentships, available as part of Essex University's ESRC-funded Doctoral
Training Centre http://www.essex.ac.uk/dtc/

These studentships are open to all suitably qualified applicants, regardless
of nationality. The deadline for applications is 14th February, 2014.

ISER offers the following research pathways:
- Economics
- Applied Social and Economic Research
- Survey Methodology
- Health Research

Information about our PhD programs may be found on the ISER website
